Carnival in Aruba, the time of your life in Aruba, you won't forget

Many folks say that you start living after you experienced the spirit of Carnival the why it is celebrated in Sunny Aruba.

In Aruba Carnival, Carnaval in Dutch or Papiamentu, is a major event that attracts many many visitors.

During the whole year many people prepare for this event by making costumes and building their colorfully decorated floats for carnival.

Introduced to Aruba by the Trinidadian immigrants who came to work in the 1940's at the former Lago Oil Refinery, Carnival has evolved.

The festivities reveal the many influences that formed the Aruban society, cultural, social and political. Over the years cultural elements from countries like Venezuela, Brazil, Holland, Colombia and the United States have slipped into the Aruban community and blended with and into the unique world famous carnival celebration with its typical characteristics of creativity and rhythm, dance and happiness.

Weeks of events, that bring you colorfully decorated floats, fabulously costumed groups of happy cheerful celebrants of all ages.
