Crime in Aruba

Aruba and crime

Aruba is known as one of the safest islands in the Caribbean.Crime on this island is rare. Of course it is always wise, to be careful and use common sense. Pickpockets and purse-snatchers do exist, and you should never leave valuables unattended anywhere in the world

Armed robbery and car theft almost never happen on this friendly Island (where do you run to and / or hide the car?).

Vehicle leased or rented may not be fully covered by local insurance in case of theft and or damage.Do as you would do in any other place and take additional insurance.Report crime to the police by dialing 11100. The fire department can be reached at 115

The disappearance of Natalee Holloway, an Alabama teenager, during a class trip to the island, is extremely unusual. Crime against tourists is almost nonexistent on this beautiful and peaceful island, and travelers can spend their time here without fear. It is always wise to take the precautions one would take in any major city, such as avoiding getting into cars with strangers, overtly displaying wealth, and entering bad areas of the city at night.

When visiting any place on vacation travelers should be careful, and Aruba is no exception. Still, this peaceful island has many visitors who return yearly without incident.
